Bob Dylan's book 'Chronicles' volume one is such a richly textured, visually engaging memoir book. The structure of the book, it flows very well to the point where it's hard to put down. I wasn't expecting him to go off and talk for pages about certain people, such as Harry Belfonte, Gorgeous George, and even unknowns like Sun Pie (he's well known in New Orleans). I knew that Dylan was and still is famous but to read him detail the crazy things him and his family endured in his early famous years was new to me. I've watched documentaries about him (directed by Martin Scorsese) that are incredible, however to read Dylan's descritptions about the places and old legendary stomping grounds in New York he journeyed through (which I have myself) is a delight!
I highly recommend this book and I hope he releases volume two some time soon.
